  2. Children's Take & Make Craft Kit

    The Norton Parks and Recreation Department is offering take and make craft kits for children 12 years and younger. Each kit costs $2 and includes three crafts with instructions. Crafts include: Make a silly chicken while repurposing an old soda bottle; create a crazy frog with candy in his mouth; and grow green grass under a rainbow and maybe see a leprechaun. Please call (276) 679-0754 to reserve a kit. Kits can be picked up March 8-17 at the Norton Community Center, 201 Park Ave. NE, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. each day.

  3. Trash Treasures Take & Make Kit

    March 8, 2021, 9:00 AM - March 12, 2021, 5:00 PM @ Norton Community Center

    The Norton Parks and Recreation Department is offering a Take & Make Trash Treasures Kit. Each kit costs $5 and includes three crafts. All craft materials, including seeds, are provided. Instructions for each craft are also provided. Crafts include: Creating a beautiful lawn ornament using a repurposed glass bottle; creating a flower out of recyclables; and creating a painted tin for growing herbs. Please call (276) 679-0754 to reserve your kit. Kits can be picked up at the Norton Community Center, 201 Park Ave. NE, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. each day the week of March 8-12.

  4. Shamrock Scavenger Hunt

    March 10, 2021 - March 17, 2021

    The Norton Parks and Recreation Department will host a Shamrock Scavenger Hunt for children ages 10 years and younger. The scavenger hunt will challenge participants to find stones with painted shamrocks hidden in Norton's parks between March 10-17. Participants must find one stone from each park for a total of four stones. Each park will have a different color painted stone, and participants can only take one stone from each park. Painted stones can be found at Clear Creek Park, Locust Avenue Park, Norton City Park, and Veterans Park. When participants find four shamrock stones (one from each park), they should bring them to the Norton Community Center, 201 Park Ave. NE, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday to receive a prize.     Join the City of Norton for its annual Easter Egg Hunt. Children ages 9 and under will hunt for more than 1,000 eggs. The Easter Bunny will also be in attendance.   10. Digital Trail Guide Release: Legion Park to High Knob Tower

    Join us for a digital tour of the trek from the Norton Reservoir Trailhead in Flag Rock Recreation Area to the High Knob summit (and return). The 7-7.5-mile round-trip trek travels from Flag Rock Recreation Area to the High Knob Observation Tower in Wise County.
