Welcome to
the City of Norton, Virginia, Home Page! As Mayor of the
City of Norton, I'd like to welcome you and present to you
the "Key" to Norton's Home Page. We stand committed to
improving our citizens' and visitors' access to our
community using tools such as the World Wide Web.

Established as a town in 1894, and later
as a City in 1954, Norton is a community
proud of its heritage. Centrally located
at the intersection of U.S. 23 and
Highway 58A, the City has for many years
served the region as a commercial hub to
parts of Southwest Virginia and Eastern
Kentucky. In much the same way as
transportation systems have played a
vital role in Norton's development
during our first 100 years, we must find
ways to utilize the Information
Superhighway as we enter the 21st
century. |
I
encourage you to take a virtual tour of our City, and I'm
sure that you will want to take advantage of the many
opportunities that our community offers. Norton has the
uniqueness of being the smallest City in the Commonwealth of
Virginia.
My motto for the City is:
Large Enough to Serve You but Small Enough to Know
You!
We welcome your comments!
Signed,

B. Robert Raines
Mayor
